Talent Tree

As your character gains levels during your wild adventures, you will be granted one point to invest into the vast Fateweavers talent tree.

Unlike the rigid classes you may be used to in other RPG systems, Fateweavers features an open-ended talent tree that provides you with endless combinations of active, passive and modifier bonuses to choose from. You will create the character you want to play with every level up!

Talents are organized into thematic sections to help guide your decisions: Combat, Divine, Eldritch, Runes, and Spirit, but these areas of the tree are interconnected and you can mix and match between them as you please to create your own synergies. There are even powerful artifacts that interact directly with talents to bring out their full potential or to unlock new otherwise unthinkable combinations.

  • Combat: mastery of weapons, combat maneuvers and surviving insurmountable odds. Combat specialists make excellent leaders on the front lines or sly assassins that skulk in the shadows.
  • Divine: the power of prayer and pious reverence of the gods, and righteous retribution against those that would defile it. Divine worshippers can lend sacred aid to their allies or smite their foes.
  • Eldritch: delve beyond the veil between realities to tap into secrets and powers few dare to harness lest their minds be consumed by what they witness. Some embrace this entropy and become stronger for it; others are lost entirely to the maddening sights. Eldritch masters can conjure and bind familiars to command, or they can utilize vile curses and necrotic magic to ravage their foes.
  • Runes: open the window into the mysteries of the arcane. Through runes, sorcerers everywhere can harness the magic that suffuses all of Drakis, though few could even speak the very tongue they wield with sometimes reckless abandon. Those that study the runes become masters of the elements, bending magic to their will, whether for devastating destruction or potent wards and defenses.
  • Spirit: focus on the power of the mortal spirit and the mental preparation necessary to harness its potential and that of augmetics. Those that have mastered their own spirit can exhibit powers that go beyond the limitations of the flesh.

For example, if you wanted to develop a frontline paladin-type, you could combine Combat and Divine talents, but you could just as easily mix Divine and Runes talents instead to unleash cleansing divine retribution with every strike. Mix Spirit and Eldritch to train your body to withstand the ravages of the eldritch realm and bring out the full potential of your bound minions as a devious conjurer. Become a living reaper as you take command of death itself to wither away your foes with your very presence and finish them off with life-sapping blows from the shadows by mixing Combat with Eldritch.

Or eschew the tropes and create your very own mix of martial arts, spiritual prowess, and arcane mastery!
